Four-session study on the wonder of God’s grace.

Grace. It’s a game changer. And when never-ending love comes from God, it sometimes feels like more than you can take. Why does God want to have a personal relationship with me? How can I fully experience and respond to God’s grace? What does “grace” really mean?

In A Grace-Full Life, you’ll examine a Wesleyan understanding of grace for the common person. You'll learn about various forms of grace—prevenient grace, justifying grace, sanctifying grace, and glorifying grace—and you’ll come away knowing how God’s grace truly works in your life.

In this session, the authors explore the concept of God’s prevenient grace—God’s “even there,” all-reaching love that woos us before we even know that God loves us. By examining the characters in the parable of the prodigal son, they show us that God’s all-reaching love seeks to draw us into a relationship whether we are close to home or far away.

In this session, the authors explore the concept of God’s justifying grace—God’s “even now,” God’s soul-saving love that allows us to respond to God’s invitation to relationship with him. By examining the story of Nicodemus and the woman at the well, they consider how some of us become followers of Jesus in an immediate, “light switch” experience while others of us have a “dimmer switch” experience of slowly coming to know Christ.

They examine verses such as John 3:6, 8 and Ephesians 5:18 as they discuss the work of the Holy Spirit within us, forming the character of God in us and giving us gifts that we can use to join Jesus in his mission and find meaning and purpose in life.

By examining the story of Lazarus’ death and resurrection, they remind us that we can live and die well, confident that we will spend eternity with God.
