After 1945, catholic expellees from the Eastern parts of Germany, most of them priests, established a new home for themselves in Konigstein, near Frankfurt. The institution reached out to catholic lay people all over Germany. Very successful during the 1950s, the Konigstein enterprises failed to come to terms with the lack of priests and the end of the cold war.
