Though many argue against the historic authenticity of the Genesis narratives, the undeniable fact that the account of Cain and Abel points directly to the historic Jesus of the gospels underscores the historicity of Genesis: for God never uses fable in Scripture to point to a very real Savior to Whom all the promises of God for a very real, lost humanity are inseparably and eternally linked.
