THE THIRD WELL: The water from a distant well offered hope to Jacob and his flocks. When a shepherdess named Rachel arrived to water her father's sheep, Jacob proceeded to roll away the stone covering the well of revealed truth. On the way to ancient Bethlehem the pains of childbirth began. After an excruciating delivery, Rachel was at death's door. And with a final breath she named the child Ben-Oni, meaning "son of my sorrow." Jacob call the boy Benjamin, "son of my right hand." May Rachel's tears for her children be comforted.
