Revealng God Through Christian Poetry (with Poems of Reflection and Humor)

  • By Harold Reuben Hearshman
$13.49
As a psychologist working in the prison settng Dr. Hearshman found another way he could serve inmates. He volunteered from time to time with the Chaplaincy to hold weekend chapel services for the inmate population. Dr. Hearshman preached full-length sermons, led the inmates in singing gospel songs and encouraged inmates to volunteer to read a scriptural passage at each service. Dr. Hearshman has for many years been an adult bible teacher at the various churches he and his wife have attended. He loves singing in church choirs (occasionally venturing to sing a solo in church) and reading his poetry to the congregation. Others interests include walking his Miniature Schnauzers and keeping physically fit. Dr. Hearshman has also earned his Black Belt in San Soo Kung Fu. After their retirement, Dr. Hearshman and his wife, Barbara, moved to beautiful Idaho. His wife Barbara holds a Masters degree in the counseling field from the University of Central Arkansas, Conway, Ar., and had an LPC licensure in the state of Arkansas during her career. Barbara has worked in both the community mental health and college campus settings. Early in their careers, Harold and Barbara worked for the same community mental health center. They soon realized that upon arriving at home they should only allow themselves a short time to talk about work, before changing the subject. They believe that having interests in different areas allows God to use you in a lot of different ways. p.p1 {margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; text-align: justify; font: 11.0px 'Adobe Garamond Pro'} p.p2 {margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; text-align: justify; font: 11.0px 'Adobe Garamond Pro'; min-height: 13.0px} p.p1 {margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; text-align: justify; font: 11.0px 'Adobe Garamond Pro'} p.p2 {margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; text-align: justify; font: 11.0px 'Adobe Garamond Pro'; min-height: 13.0px} Dr. Harold Reuben Hearshman holds a Doctorate of Clinical Psychology (Psy.D.) from Forest Institute of Professional Psychology, Springfield, Mo.; an M.S. in Community Counseling from the University of Central Arkansas, Conway, Ar.; and a B.S. in Psychology from Chapman University, Orange, California. In the early stages of his professional career Dr. Hearshman has worked with families, couples and emotionally disturbed teenagers in both outpatient and inpatient community mental health settings in Arkansas. During the last fifteen years of his career, Dr. Hearshman was a full-time employee of the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR), primarily as a Senior Psychologist, Supervisor.
