Where do we learn the value of our lives? Hopefully from our mothers, grandmothers, or other women who cared for us early in life. But what if we had no women able to provide this nurturing care? How would our perspective on the value of our lives change if we found out that our own mothers did not want us, even to the point of trying to abort us before we were born? How is the value of the lives of the children who are knit together in our own wombs tied to the nurture or lack thereof that we received while we ourselves grew in our mother's womb?
Seventeen-year-old Tracy Wilson and her high school nemesis, Calista Dubois, have nothing in common except that they are locker neighbors. Calista always comes to school looking as if she just stepped out of one of the fashion magazine pictures lining the inside of her locker. Tracy would wear flannel pj's and slippers to school if she could. The inside of her locker is plastered with pictures of puppies and kittens.
In the world of high school popularity contests, Calista ranks much higher than Tracy. But as the two girls are thrown together by divine coincidence, they find that under the surface, their lives are more similar than they could have imagined as they learn the value of an unborn child.
