I was seven years old when the abuse began and didn't escape it until I was in the custody of the Children's Aid Society where I spent most of my teens between group homes and foster homes. I'd experienced what it was to live in hate and anger, and when at sixteen I gave my life to the Lord I still carried considerable baggage from a life I'd left behind. When I started to see a Christian Psychologist to try to come to terms with my past he encouraged me to keep a journal and, though reluctant at first, it became a source of wealth and healing for me. This story is fictional but it's based on those musings. It's my sincere hope, if you are reading this and, if you have been hurt in your life, that this may serve to be a source of encouragement and healing for you. My favorite scripture reads, "Here I am I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with Me." -- Revelation 3:20 There is absolutely nothing you can do to deter His affection for you."
