In a culture that demands we pick a side in every debate, Pastor Micahn Carter delivers a bold call for Christians to be instruments of unity, togetherness, and love.
With so many hot-button issues causing divisiveness in our culture, many Christians are struggling to live out their faith. There is a way, says Micahn Carter. Jesus modeled it perfectly: he chose to stand in the middle of tension and to love people outside of his comfort zone.
Growing up in a home mired in conflict, Micahn Carter learned how to unify people at an early age. He became skilled at understanding all sides of an issue and building togetherness. As an adult, God placed him in a position to minister to the deep racial and economic segregation in his community, and Together Church became the only multi-racial church in the region. He reminds Christians that God sent his Son to die for broken humanity so that reconciliation could be a new way of life--reconciliation between God and man, and through the power of Jesus, reconciliation among humankind.
Made for the Middle is about resisting the urge to pick a side in the latest debate and instead fighting for unity, for together, for love. It's about learning that the culture of our cities cannot be changed by pointing fingers and picketing events. Rather, transformation is possible only when we've taken the time to build relationship, to seek to understand, and to involve ourselves with the areas of change we feel need to happen.
