Interviews with over 100 people identified as generous givers resulted in a wealth of giving stories. The experiences of these people from a variety of backgrounds, congregations, ethnic groups, ages, and locations are woven together to describe how giving patterns develop in real congregations among real people. Their stories can help church leaders better understand how giving becomes a part of the mission and ministry of the church.
Stewardship leaders will find help in these stories as they evaluate their current stewardship approaches, and they will discover clues for ways to build new giving systems that invite generous giving as a faith response both today and in the future.
Designed for pastors and laity who are responsible for encouraging giving as part of the Christian faith journey, and for those responsible for the annual giving campaign.
