People come to church seeking comfort, encouragement, empowerment, and liberation. Preachers are under a divine imperative to provide a word that will minister all those things-to all people and especially to the least of these.
Author and pastor Elaine Flake seizes that imperative and crafts a womanist theology and praxis of
preaching to the population most overlooked and overwhelmed in our pews: wounded women-those who are wounded by virtue of their gender and more particularly black women who are also wounded by virtue of their race.
