God, through this symbol, has revealed something to us about ourselves in each part, or member, of the scorpion. The eight eyes of the scorpion correspond to eight desires of the flesh and the carnal mind. These desires are common to all mankind because all humans are of like passion. The scorpions legs represent eight roots of sin, or attitudes. God said it is at this root level that man must overcome sin. To sever a scorpions legs is to render it powerless to fulfill its wicked desires.
