Pronunciation Plus helps intermediate-level students of North American English improve their pronunciation through a variety of stimulating listening and speaking tasks. Many of these tasks are done with a partner or in small groups, giving students the opportunity to interact with their classmates while practicing their pronunciation. The student's book contains 60 two-page units; together they address the important elements of spoken English, including individual speech sounds, consonant clusters, stress and rhythm, sounds in connected speech, intonation, sounds and grammar, and pronouncing written words. The teacher's manual offers in-depth discussion of the goals and content of each unit, as well as the answers to all of the exercises. About half of the exercises in the student's book are recorded on tape. Transcripts for any recorded material that does not appear in the student's book are provided in the teacher's manual.
