In this three-session unit from the Connect series middle school youth will consider the various types of disasters that strike people of all ages and consider the Christian responses to disasters.
Session 1: Toto, We're Not In Kansas Anymore - helps youth develop a realistic awareness of people in need due to large-scale disasers and to equip them to respond to the needs of others.
Session 2: I've Fallen and I Can't Get Up - helps youth become more aware of personal disasters of others and how the Christian faith leads persons to reach out and serve others in need.
Session 3: Why Me, God? - explores some of the deep questions that are raised when disaster strikes.
