Sie wird in dieser Dissertation vor dem Hintergrund der Zusammengehorigkeit von Bild- und Fantasiekonzept erschlossen. Der im Fruhwerk etablierten Gleichstellung von Vernunft und Fantasie bzw. Rationalitat und Kreativitat korrespondiert die Gleichursprunglichkeit von Begriff und Bild als Formen kommunikativer Vergegenwartigung der gemeinsamen Welt. Firchow rekonstruiert im ersten Hauptteil die werkgeschichtliche Etablierung der Fantasie als
individuelle Vernunft im zeitgenossischen Kontext des Deutschen Idealismus. Der zweite Teil bietet eine systematische Darstellung der Grundfunktionen der gestaltbildenden Fantasie im Rahmen einer Platonischen
Bild-Anthropologie, die sich als anschlussfahig fur den gegenwartigen
iconic turn erweist. Die theologische Relevanz betrifft den Ursprung der Gottesidee und die Vergegenwartigung des
Bildes des Erlosers als Kernelement der Wesensbestimmung des Christentums.
English summary: Schleiermacher's complete work is crossed by the elementary function of figurative representation for thinking and acting. This study extrapolates it amidst the affiliation of fantasy and image theory. The equality of reason and fantasy, resp. rationality and creativity, as established in the early work, corresponds to the relationship of concept and image as forms of communicative representation in Schleiermacher's later work. In the first part, Firchow reconstructs the justification of fantasy as
individual reason within the contemporary context of German Idealism. The second part contains a systematic statement of the basic functions of figurative representation in the context of a Platonic
image-anthropology, which can be connected to fundamental aspects of the recent
iconic turn. The theological relevance of the topic culminates in issues concerning the origin of the idea of God and the visualization of the
image of the Redeemer which is considered to be a core element within the essential determination of Christianity.
