Translated into French, the Handbook for Delegates is your guide to General Conference 2016 in Portland, Oregon. It includes the schedule, a map of the area around the convention center, a diagram of the plenary area with seating assignments, an alphabetical list of delegates and conference delegations, legislative committee assignments, diagrams of the legislative process and parliamentary procedures, the Proposed Plan of Organization and Rules of Order, and other helpful information.
The Handbook also includes membership lists of the Council of Bishops, Judicial Council, Connectional Table, the Portland Hospitality Team, and the Commission on the General Conference.
The Daily Christian Advocate (DCA) is published for delegates to the General Conference of The United Methodist Church. The Advance Edition, which is produced and shipped to delegates well before the conference convenes, contains three volumes.
- Volume One is the handbook for delegates.
- Volume Two contains reports from the general agencies and study commissions along with legislative proposals from agencies, annual conferences, United Methodist groups, local churches, and individuals. The material is organized according to the legislative committee to which it is assigned.
- Volume Three contains quadrennial financial reports compiled by the General Council on Finance and Administration (GCFA). It is not mailed in advance, but distributed to delegates on the first day of General Conference.
All issues of the DCA are issued by authority of the Commission on General Conference.
