Are human beings capable of rising above inherent weakness in order to imitate Jesus Christ? Can the lure of sin truly be defeated in a heart that is corrupt?
While on earth, Jesus exemplified the gold ring standard of obedience to his Almighty Father. He defied the imperfections of fleshly impulses, emotional instabilities, and petty idiosyncrasies. The good news is that all people possess the ability to follow his example. As opposed to operating in prideful independence, the follower of Christ plunges into his death and resurrection, embraces the transformation of the Holy Spirit, and surrenders at the feet of the Almighty Father. Instead of fighting sinful desires, a developing reliance on God begins to deliver healing to our most intimate needs. The result is pure sweet surrender to his thoughts and ways. As we relinquish ourselves into his care, we stop trying to change ourselves and concede to his transformation!
