Edward McKendree Bounds was born on August 15, 1835, in Shelby County, Missouri. He studied law and went on to practice as a lawyer. He is best known for having written eleven books, nine of which focused on the subject of prayer. Only two of Bounds' books were published during his lifetime. After his death, Rev.
