Mark was born in Peking (Beijing), China, and grew up in Taiwan. He served God for many years in Taiwan and went to the United States in 1985 to pursue theological study, where he received Master of Arts in Bible Study (M.A.B.S.), Master in Divinity (M. Div.), and Doctor in Ministry (D. Min.) degrees. He has taught in several Chinese seminaries, and has written the following Chinese books: Spiritual Gifts in Biblical Perspective, The Approach to Sanctification, Rethinking on the Spiritual Person, and A Longstanding Debate: Predestination vs. Free Will. He also edited the hymn book Making Melody from the Heart. Born in Peking (Beijing), China, John spent his childhood in southern Chinese cities, and his adolescent years in Taiwan. He has lived abroad since 1956, where he finished high school education, received college and graduate school degrees, taught in colleges and college preparatory schools, and worked in private and public sectors. He is a fifth generation Christian, currently worshiping and serving in a Chinese church in the United States. He is a retired engineer and has been a freelance translator since 1980.
