Hebrews Leader Kit

The Nearness of King Jesus
Product Description

The Book of Hebrews is a rich, dense section of Scripture that can intimidate the most scholarly biblical student. But Lisa Harper makes digging into Hebrews fun and doable, as only she can, without losing an ounce of depth. Hebrews was a sermon for a specific people and culture in the midst of martyrdom and persecution, but is also so relevant for us today, reminding us to continue walking toward Jesus regardless of our culture or our circumstances. Join Lisa as she journeys through this bridge between the Old and New Testaments to get to the heart of the matter: Jesus is our accessible King. He is not a faraway God, but an up-close Redeemer who draws near to us. Hebrews helps women make the connection between God the Father and God the Son and reminds us that Jesus is supreme, but He is also compassionate, empathetic, and loving to no end. (7 sessions)

  • Session 2: A King Who Weeps With His Subjects (32:00)--During this week's study in Hebrews 2, learners are reminded that if we aren't actively moving toward Jesus, there is a powerful riptide that is actively pulling us away from Him.
  • Session 3: The Pursuit and Purpose of Rest (38:00)--Digging deeper into Hebrews 3 and 4, this week's study pursues the concept and purpose of rest found in both the Old and New Testaments.

  • Session 6: The Sophomore Class of Heroes (32:00)--We often read Hebrews 11 and review the list of the faithful. In this session Lisa reminds women of the sophomore class, those heroes of faith who made mistakes yet remained on the list of the faithful to God's plans and purposes.
  • Session 7: A Charge to Go Outside Your Camp (15:00)--In this closing session women are challenged to go outside their camp, or their comfort zone, and seek to discover what God is leading them to pursue with passion in their journey of faith.
