In the November 6 issue, LinC takes a look at the recent arrest of Robert Davis, a 64-year-old retired schoolteacher, by three New Orleans police officers. Mr. Davis was arrested for alleged public intoxication. A violent encounter ensued that was captured on video and made headlines around the world. Though the facts in the case are still unclear, such incidents raise questions about justice and equality in twenty-first-century America. In the November 13 issue, LinC takes a look at Veteran’s Day, which was formerly “Armistice Day”—a day set aside to recognize the end or World War I. Armistice Day celebrated an event where war gave way to peace. We will explore what it means for Christians to be “peacemakers” and how peace is not simply the absence of war.
