In recent years, many sports and other “competitive” opportunities have started awarding participation trophies—trophies simply for showing up. Next week in LinC we’ll talk about the Pittsburgh Steelers player who made headlines by taking away his kids’ participation trophies, decrying their value. How do we, as Christians, decide what effort is worthy of recognition?
