This month consumers lined up to get their hands on the iPhone 4, a device that features video calling, HD recording, and a display whose clarity rivals that of the printed page. High-definition picture is in high demand these days, and a large-scale adoption of 3D television is on the horizon. We are enjoying television, cinema, music, and the Web with unprecedented clarity and perspective. But with what degree of clarity do we perceive our faith, our relationship with God, and the world in which we live? This week LinC looks at what it means to see clearly, to live with open eyes, and to look at God’s world with HD clarity. Key Scriptures: Genesis 3:7-11, 20-24; Matthew 23:16-24; Acts 9:1-19. Toy Story 3 is on its way to being 2010’s biggest blockbuster—quite a feat for a G-rated, animated feature. The film resonates with moviegoers and critics because it takes an honest look at the complexities of growing up. For many of us, growing up involves fear and anxiety. But God has good news for those who are making the transition from adolescence to young adulthood. Though we inevitably grow older, we never outgrow God’s love and grace. And, though we must “put away childish things” (1 Corinthians 13:11), we should never put away our childlike faith and sense of wonder.
