Earlier this month, millions of viewers tuned in to watch Farrah's Story, a documentary about actress Farrah Fawcett's battle with cancer. Fawcett's struggle resonates with so many people because cancer affects just about everyone. This week LinC talks about cancer, looking at ways Christ is present with those who suffer from this illness. And we'll look for signs of hope amid the harsh realities of dealing with cancer. Key Scriptures: Job 10:1-22; 42:1-6, 10-17; 1 Corinthians 15:53-58; James 5:13-16. Gerald and Helen Goode, title characters of ABC's new animated comedy The Goode Family, do everything in their power to make the world a better place. They drive a hybrid, but prefer to walk or ride a bike; they care so much for animals that their family dog is now a vegan; and they are respectful to people of all cultures and ethnicities. But the Goodes’ efforts to do good always backfire (often in comical fashion). As Christians, we know that salvation comes through God’s grace, not through our goodness. But we also know that God created us for good works (Ephesians 2:10) and that without good works our faith is “dead” (James 2:17).
