The royal marriage of Prince William of Wales and Kate Middleton is likely one of the biggest media events of the year. While we’re on the subject of marriage, let’s talk about the “bride of Christ”: the church. Frequently Scripture uses marital language to talk about God’s relationship with God’s people. This marriage imagery says a lot about the commitment that God makes to us and the commitment that we, as part of the church, make to God. LinC celebrates this holy marriage and talks about what it means for the church to be Christ’s bride. Key Scriptures: Isaiah 62:1-5; John 2:1-11; Revelation 22:16-17.

We meet several such moms in Scripture: Sarah, Elizabeth, Mary, and Hannah—to name a few. Next week, in honor of Mother’s Day, we’ll learn some lessons from these biblical mothers about how we can faithfully follow where God leads us.
