On April 8, LinC looks at how Christians claim and live in response to the truth of Christ’s resurrection. In the most dramatic week of the Christian calendar, the mystery of Holy Thursday will give way to the despair of Good Friday, which will be redeemed by the joyous celebration of Easter. As Christians, we affirm that Christ rose from the grave on that first Easter; but what does the Resurrection mean for us today? Key Scriptures: John 14:1-7; Romans 8:31-39; Revelation 3:20. Are you smarter than a fifth-grader? What about your Sunday school teacher or your parents or your pastor? On April 15, LinC looks at the new Fox game show, Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader? The show tests contestants to see if they have retained the knowledge they learned in grade school, and demonstrates that, if we don’t review and use what we have learned, we’ll lose it. The same is true for learning about Scripture. As Christians, we need to make a habit of reading and studying the Bible so that the story of our faith remains fresh and relevant to our lives.
