People were outraged when the American International Group (AIG) announced that it would be using $165 million of its taxpayer-funded bailout money for executive bonuses. Accusations of greed and gluttony were inevitable. Of course greed and gluttony in our culture are hardly limited to corporate executives. This week we'll talk about gluttony and examine the excesses in our individual lives. How do greed and gluttony keep us from being the people God calls us to be? Miniskirts with thick belts, leotards, tapered jeans, and low-cut stiletto boots are just as fashionable now as they were in the decade of Rubik's Cubes and jelly shoes. Speaking of comebacks, next week is Easter—the celebration of the greatest comeback in history. But unlike fashion comebacks, Jesus' return was permanent.
