The Vatican recently issued a list of the "new seven deadly sins." This list of vices, which includes pollution and genetic manipulation, seeks to identify new ways that sin is manifest in today's morally and technologically complex world. This week LinC looks at sin, the effects of sin on our personal lives and on society as a whole, and how we can live virtuously in a sinful world. (She was born Destiny Hope Cyrus.) Names are important. Calling someone by name demonstrates respect, even love, for that person. On the other hand, calling someone by a degrading nickname can be hurtful. Fortunately we serve a God who knows and calls each of us by name.
