While LinC has a policy of avoiding R-rated movies, the new film The Book of Eli is interesting because it stars devout Christian Denzel Washington and the Holy Bible. Rather than focus on Eli, LinC turns our attention to the Bible: what it is, how it came to be, and how we can use it faithfully. Scripture serves as a companion on our spiritual journey—not only as something we read and study but also as something we experience. And technology allows us to send cards, letters, pictures, music, and video electronically and instantly. Such technology is great when used responsibly. But, in the past few years, several teens have gotten in trouble after provocative digital photos they had sent to a boyfriend or girlfriend were distributed to classmates. And Portland Trail Blazers center Greg Oden recently apologized after racy photos that he'd sent his former girlfriend found their way onto the Internet.
