When adversities manifest themselves in our lives, we may become disillusioned and wonder why God would allow such trouble to come upon us, especially when we are endeavoring to walk in obedience to His word. The scriptures reveal that everyone who will be brought to glory through the blood of Jesus Christ will in some measure share in His sufferings as well. These hardships and losses have eternal value. In fact, they all are a part of God's predetermined plan and purpose for our lives. The Apostle Paul teaches us that just as the sufferings of Christ abound in our lives, so also it is through Christ that our comfort abounds. The author looks intently into the word of God to bring to the reader that comfort which abounds through Christ-to reveal God's promises of grace and provision for our need when we find ourselves going through hard times.
