This book is inspired by the USCCB's document "Forming Consciences for Faithful Citizenship: A Call to Political Responsibility." In the document, the bishops asked parishes to share the seven principles of Catholic social teaching and encourage voter participation in a nonpartisan way.
In keeping with the bishop's document, this book does that. What it does not do is tell people how to vote. Rather, it looks at moral issues relevant to making an informed decision in the voting booth.
This book delves into the topics of the challenge of forming consciences; conscience and voting; human life issues including euthanasia, social justice, immigration, ecological concerns; and responsibility for the world.
