Product Description
Description: As a 'divine conspiracy' for Missio Dei, the global phenomenon of people on the move has shown itself to be invaluable. In 2004 two significant documents concerning Diaspora were introduced, one by the Filipino International Network and the other by the Lausanne Committee for World Evangelization. These have created awareness of the importance of people on the move for Christian mission. Since then, Korean Diaspora has conducted similar research among Korean missions, resulting in this book. It is unique as the first volume researching Korean missions in Diasporic contexts, appraising and evaluating these missions with practical illustrations, and drawing on a wide diversity of researchers. Endorsements: ""This book is a tangible fulfillment of my dream . . . the Korean Diaspora have developed some models and I wholeheartedly challenge today's mission thinkers and practitioners not only to read this work but more importantly to take further forward the discussion of the role of Diaspora in mission."" Ram Gidoomal Chairman, South Asian Concern ""Korean Diaspora and Christian Mission will not only rekindle the dialogue among the Korean Mission Community, but also among the global mission community in regard to their grossly under-valued importance."" David Tai Woong Lee Director of Global Leadership Focus, Korea ""In my travels, I have come across Korean people everywhere. Wherever they are, they . . . not only try to reach out to their own people living in Diaspora, but also to the people of the host nations."" (from the Foreword) Tetsunao Yamamori Lausanne Senior Advisor ""I count it a great privilege to endorse this book to anyone engaged in missions and evangelism. May the Global Church of Jesus Christ not only learn how the Koreans pray but how to do Diaspora missions.""
