We are all on life's journey, each starting and finishing at different times. The journey has many adventures, opportunities, and mountaintop experiences as well as valleys. The valleys, or low points, in our lives can knock the wind out of our sails, and our lives can feel like they have come to a standstill or even gone into a downward spiral. But there is hope in the midst of those valleys. Godis still present. This book is a blog composed during a deep personal valley when my son Luke was in a near fatal caraccident. My blog was used to inform many of Luke'sprogress. We had a lot of time to reflect, read God's Word, pray, and sing songs by his bedside. But my blog became more than a status report. It wasaspecial time where God ministeredto us through the encouragementof individuals, scriptures, songs, andpoems. Through the years, people haveaskedtoread my blog and encouraged me to put it into a book. So I share my family's story to encourage those going through a personal valley. It all began with a phone call no parent wants to hear, "Your son is missing." Thus began hours of phone calls to find out what had happened to Luke. Nervousness, stabbing pains in my heart, and a stomach twisted in knots describe my feelings during those uncertain hours. All kinds of thoughts tumble through your mind: "Is he dead on the side of the road?" "Kidnapped?" "Arrested and in jail?" "Been in an accident?" "Where is he?" Come share my journey...
