Product Description

Follow the journeys of Paul, beginning with his dramatic conversion, as he spread the Gospel through modern-day Greece and Turkey. Travel to the early church sites and explore Paul’s conversations with the Romans, Corinthians, Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, and Thessalonians. In this six-week study, you are invited to experience faith through Christ’s greatest teacher and missionary.

In Session 1 titled Called to Follow Christ, Adam Hamilton takes us to key places where the Apostle Paul lived out his ministry. We travel to Tarsus to see where Paul grew up and to Damascus, where as a persecutor of early Christians he met the risen Christ and became a believer. Fourteen years later, Barnabas took Paul to the church at Syrian Antioch, and Paul’s missionary ministry began.

In Session 5 titled Called to Give, Paul felt called to set out on a Third Missionary Journey, first revisiting churches he had founded and then returning to the wealthy city of Ephesus, where he stayed for over two years, boldly proclaiming Christ. His preaching hurt sales of idols, and he was hustled out of town by local Christians to avoid a confrontation with angry merchants.

In Session 6 titled Called to Be Faithful, after leaving Ephesus, Paul traveled to Caeserea, where he was arrested for violating temple rules and was sent to Rome to be tried. After a harrowing trip there, he was held under house arrest for two years, teaching and bringing people to Christ. We learn two traditions about Paul’s final years, both ending in his execution at the Mamertine Prison in Rome. We reflect on what Paul’s life and death mean for us today.
