The Jesus and the Children unit uses the Bible story included in Mark 10:13-16. Jesus proclaimed through his words and actions that children are valued by God. Children have important roles to play in the community of faith. By the end of this unit, children will have had the opportunity to:

• Hear the story of Jesus welcoming the children.
• Experience being a valued part of the faith community.
• See that we are all, young or old, children of God.
• See that every person is someone of worth.
• See that children have things to teach adults.
