This three-session unit from the series, "Questions Senior Highs Ask," is about hearing and evaluating the media. It encourages youth to change their perspective, to stand in a different place. When they recognize and evaluate what's going on in the media, youth can begin to make choices about their responses to media messages.
Questions addressed in this unit are:
Who and what are the media?
How much influence do the media have?
Am I supposed to believe anything or nothing that the media tell me?
Will I be a freak if I think for myself? How do I say no and still keep my friends?
Key Scriptures:
Matthew 5-7
Ephesians 5:6-10
Philippians 2:14-15
