Purpose: Gossip creeps into every aspect of a teenager's life. It especially affects the lives of young teens in middle school or junior high. These sessions are designed to help the youth become aware of gossip, how it affects them, and what they can do to move beyond gossip.
Session 1: "Pssst! Did You Hear About...?" The Power of Gossip
Gossip and rumors whirl through our world at the ever-increasing speed of technology. In this session, the youth will begin to recognize gossip and to be aware of its destructive power.
Session 2: What's Your Motive? Moving Beyond Gossip
This session will focus on ways in which youth can strengthen their hearts in order to move away from the power and influence of gossip and rumors, and will help youth realize that they are a positive example when they turn away from gossip.
