My Soul Is a Witness

For many years Marsha Hansen has helped people hear and see the spiritual depth and power of African-American spirituals.  One evening she and Keith Richards, lead guitarist for The Rolling Stones, held a recording session in his home.  Here she combines her voice and her insights into the history, the people, and the curcumstances from which these songs arose with the powerful music of six professional musicians, including Keith Richards  on lead guitar.

Hansen and Richards see a direct link between the spirituals, the blues, and modern rock music.  Their work here brings the reader and listener to new understandings about the spirituals and a new and powerful faith experience.  Each chapter closes with a Bible passage for reflection throughout the day.
