The lovely contemporary song was written by Joni Stine as a theme song to the “Igniting Ministries” campaign of The United Methodist Church. The first two stanzas are followed by the Refrain. A brief contrasting section serves as an interlude before returning to the Refrain and eventually to the Coda.
The range covers over an octave from A below middle C to the D a ninth above middle C. The tessitura remains in a moderate range throughout most of the piece, however. The accompaniment is written in a “pop” style with numerous syncopations characteristic of the style and, while not overly difficult, will take a solid player and sufficient rehearsal.
PERFORMANCE OPTIONS include the use of a small band (guitar, bass, drums) as the accompaniment; guitar chords are included in the score. This can also be sung by a choir in unison, alternating stanzas between women and men if desired.
