Six Ways We Encounter God
is a six-week small group experience that gives participants an opportunity to learn about different qualities of God’s character and discuss the ways they are encountering God in their daily lives. This six-session study is designed for small group use with the Participant Book and Leader Guide. Each weekly session can be streamed or you can purchase the DVD that includes all six video sessions.
The goal of this week’s session titled "God’s Righteousness and My Work for Justice" is to show that God’s righteousness leads us to work for justice. The video is much like watching the news most nights—poverty, abuse, oppression, and inhumane conditions are preva¬lent in our world. While we see these images with our own eyes and in our minds know that they exist, we are often blind to it all. We worship God, we talk about our own transformation, and we talk of our hope of eternal life, but we never see the world any differently. We never see the world as Jesus saw the world. We don’t realize that as God’s holy and righteous peo¬ple, we are God’s helpers and are called to reach out to the needy world we live in and do our part to work for the justice that is God’s will. This is session five of a six part series.
