In order to purchase any downloadable product, subscription, or streaming video from Cokesbury.com, you will need a username and password. If you do not have one, and you have already added downloadable items to your cart, you will be prompted to create one before completing your order.
After placing a downloadable product in your shopping cart, the checkout process is the same as for other products. When the checkout is complete, you will see an order confirmation screen. Toward the middle of the screen will be a button that says "My Digital Products". Click on this button to be directed to the Downloads/Subscriptions page, where you can download your purchased product.
To access your purchased downloads, subscriptions, or streaming video at a later time, you must first log in to your Cokesbury.com account. Once you are logged in, hover over “My Cokesbury.com” at the top of the page, and click on Downloads/Subscriptions in the drop down menu. This will take you to your Downloads/Subscriptions page, where there are different tabs for each type of product-Downloads, Subscriptions, and Streaming Video.
You have 60 days from the date of purchase to download a purchased product. You also only have 6 attempts to download a product. Afer 60 days, or 6 download attempts, the items will still show in your My Downloads section, but the links will not be active.
eBook Download Instructions
Laptop or Desktop Computer
It is recommended that you download the free Adobe Digital Editions software and set up a free Adobe ID before purchasing an eBook. This will allow you to read online or offline, and share your downloaded eBook between up to six devices.
Download Adobe Digital Editions for free.
Once the installer has been downloaded, open the program; you will be prompted to authorize your computer with an Adobe ID. This will allow you to open your DRM-protected content on multiple devices. If you do not have a free Adobe ID, click on the link that says “get an Adobe ID online.” When you’ve finished, return to Adobe Digital Editions and sign in.
Once you download Adobe Digital Editions and register your device with your Adobe ID, you will be able to download eBooks purchased on Cokesbury.com. From your Downloads/Subscriptions section on Cokesbury.com, click on the title of the eBook you wish to download. When you are prompted to either Open or Save the file, you should Save (remember where you save it). Then, in Adobe Digital Editions, click on File and Add to Library. In the dialog box that opens, find the folder where you saved the file, then change Files of Type from “E-Books” to “Adobe Content Server Message.” Select the file and then click Open. This should open the eBook and save it in Adobe Digital Editions.
Before downloading eBooks from Cokesbury.com, it is important that you have the correct reader installed on your device.

There are several apps available in the Apple and Android stores that support Adobe Digital Editions. In particular, Aldiko for Android devices and Bluefire Reader for Apple devices both support ADE.
Note: Due to the Kindle™ proprietary format, eBooks purchased at Cokesbury.com cannot currently be transferred to Kindle™ devices.
PDF Download Instructions
From the Downloads/Subscriptions section of your Cokesbury.com profile, click on the downloadable product link. You will be prompted to either Open or Save the file. If you choose the Open option, the file will display in your Adobe Reader program (click here to download for free if not already installed). You can then print the file. If you choose the Save option, you will be asked where you want to save the file on your computer. Remember where you save the file!
Some large files purchased from Cokesbury.com are compressed into zip files for faster downloading. These will need to be saved first, instead of trying to open directly from the website.
PDF Document Downloads are available for 90 days from the date of purchase.
Online subscriptions are available for the United Methodist Book of Discipline & Book of Resolutions, United Methodist Guidelines for Leading Your Congregation, The United Methodist Hymnal, The United Methodist Book of Worship and various other products, including Ministry Matters. A purchase allows online use of the resources within the subscriptions for a specified period of time.
To access your subscription immediately after purchase, select the My Digital Products button on the Order Confirmation screen to be directed to the Downloads and Subscriptions page. To access your subscription any other time, log in to Cokesbury.com, hover over My Cokesbury.com in the upper right corner, and select Downloads/Subscriptions from the drop down menu. Select the Subscriptions tab, and click the link to view your product. For some subscriptions, you will be prompted to Login. Enter your Cokesbury.com login information, and enjoy your subscription!
Streaming video products are also available for purchase. After placing a streaming video order, click the My Digital Products button on the order confirmation screen. You will be directed to the Downloads and Subscriptions page. Click the Streaming Video tab and then select the title of the video you wish to view. Clicking the title will launch your video.
