Growing up in a family divided by religious beliefs, Bill did not receive a clear understanding of the Gospel. He attended Christian schools, colleges, and universities where He learned about the Bible. He served as a ministry leader, associate pastor, and director of regional Christian youth programs. After three years in the U.S.N., Bill's pursuit of finding fulfillment in life was mostly devoid of Christ. He looked to business where he operated a Caribbean tour company, a South America expedition business, a restaurant chain, a water sports training academy, and a general contracting firm. He also looked to scuba diving, flying, physical training, competitive dancing, sailing, fly-fishing, and travel for fulfilment. However, the results of all these activities were stacks of photos, two failed marriages, decreased personal fulfillment, and no personal relationship with Jesus Christ. But God, in His faithfulness and sovereign mercy, called Bill to genuine salvation and then blessed him with a Christian wife. For years, Gail prayed that God would bring godly influences into Bill's life, and God answered her prayers with men whose lives displayed the transforming truths of Scripture. God used these men to take Bill's appreciation of biblical truth from knowledge to passionate love and obedience. As Bill grew in Christ, he became increasingly concerned that others were struggling as he once had-they claimed to be Christians, believed the Bible, but seldom went to the Bible for answers. He started to pray that the Lord would show him how God could use his testimony and personal transformation to reach others.
