Valerie Reid is a mother, grandmother and widow. She is a member of the Bedford Central Presbyterian Church in Brooklyn. She was a deacon, Elder. She teaches the new members class in the Church Bible study group on Sundays. She took the Lay Pastor's course at Auburn Theological Seminary and graduated. The course consists of subjects in: Introduction to the Bible Spirituality and Worship Presbyterian Polity Preaching Pastoral Care Reform Theology and Church history Evangelism and Church Growth Teaching Reflective Seminar on the practice of Ministry
