Born in St. Petersburg Florida in 1960 the second of six children to Amanda and Henry L. Keys Sr. at age eleven he was drafted into the army of the Lord. In 1972 God put a very special person in his life in the person of Claire Newcome his seventh grade science teacher to help lead him in the right direction. With whom Henry keeps in touch with on a weekly basis. Although he suffered with epilepsy from a child God blessed him to keep making strides forward. In 1979 He was blessed with the opportunity to move to San Diego to live with his Uncle Marvin and Auntie Rosamary. In 1982 Henry broke his neck in a car accident yet he was blessed because he was not paralyzed neither does he have any trouble with his neck. Late in 1982 he was diagnosed with having lupus this was a terrible blow to Henry's future plans. The merciful love of God and help from family and friends has helped Henry to continue make strides forward and has blessed him to write this inspiring book of poetry. Nickole Anntionette Keys and Krystal Angelica Keys his two lovely daughters have been an awesome source of inspirational power for him to move forward with his life despite the many obstacles. With the strength of God every year, every month, every week, every day, and every moment he would battle these difficulties until God gave him the victory. In February 23, 1998 Henry would under go brain surgery for the epilepsy. With love support and prayer from family and friends the surgery was a great success. God gave them the victory over the seizures and caused the lupus to go into remission. To God be the Glory for all the things he has done.
