more Light Steps was born out of writing weekly articles for the local newspaper in Roxboro, NC over the course of over ten years. Compiling years' worth of shared thoughts, more Light Steps is full of stories that match biblical theology with everyday life. Tim Bowes is the Executive Director of My Life Matters, a relational, generational discipleship and outreach ministry whose primary audience is 3rd - 12th grade students. My Life Matters desires to raise up lifelong followers of Jesus who lead their homes, houses of worship, and communities into ever transforming and surrendered lives through the lordship of Jesus Christ. In addition, Tim is pastor of a local church, East Rock Community Church, which started as a church plant on the property of a defunct church. Intentionally planted in a once declining neighborhood, God has blessed East Rock to be a stable community of dedicated disciples who are committed to walking together as family and functioning as a lighthouse to other families and the neighborhood in which God has planted them. More than anything, Tim is a committed husband to his school-teacher wife, Care, and a devoted dad to his beautiful daughters, Katie and Rachel, who he homeschools on a daily basis. The blessing of family has been God's greatest earthly gift. Having been delivered from the bondage of sin, Satan, and addiction, finding life in Jesus, being given the gifts of a family to love, a place to belong in the people of God, purpose in his community, and a mission to live out in the Kingdom, Tim readily admits all these have shaped all the stories he shares, but it's truth of the gospel of Jesus that matters. It's that life-giving gospel that drives the thoughts in this book, and all those roles Tim lives.
