Inspiration is everywhere: in thunderclouds, in birds singing of spring, and even in the darkness of a quiet night. It can be hard to see inspiration in the depths of despair. It's even harder to find God when all hope seems lost. Yet, even when it seems as though the worst has happened, God is there to love, support, and care for His children.
Cheryl Damian has been through the tough times; she has come to realize God truly is all around, as illuminated by the poetry of "Whispers of a Soul." "Mother Please" gives voice to an unborn fetus, begging to be born; "Cannot" admires the beauty of nature and shows that God is in the simple things. "Refresh My Soul" begs for refreshment and renewal from past pain, and Damian's words do so much more.
Motivated by her own life experiences and by the witnesses from fellow Christians, Damian's poetry gives description to the invisible love of God. Life is filled with trials, but God is always there. It is time to trust Him. We must all find our ways through life, despite the challenges we face; peace and comfort may only be attained by uniting our sufferings with Christ.
