The General Board of Discipleship invites congregations to enlist couples with a healthy Christian marriage to be in ministry with other couples and with families in need. The enlisted couples become "caring couples," working in a team with the pastor, other "caring couples," and one or more professional consultants, as needed. The handbook provides basic information to help the CCN team organize and learn ways to minister effectively with couple and families. It will help the congregation: 1. Know why CCN is important and how to get started. 2. Enlist and train good candidates to be caring couples. 3. Identify couples in need who are ready to be linked with a caring couple. 4. Find ways to link the local network to the district, conference, and general church to form a caring network. (1996)
