Elijah McCoy Black History Regular Size Bulletin

Pack of 100

Cover Text: Celebrating determination

Commit thy works unto the Lord, and thy thoughts shall be established.Proverbs 16:3

Elijah McCoy. Elijah McCoy was an inventor fascinated by steam engines. His parents escaped slavery in Kentucky by traveling along the Underground Railroad. At an early age Elijah showed mechanical ability, often taking items apart and putting them back together. In 1872 he developed a "lubricating cup" that could automatically drip oil when and where needed, and received a patent later that year. His invention was so popular people inspecting new equipment would ask if the device contained the "real McCoy" - the real thing, the highest quality. Elijah McCoy established his own firm and was responsible for fifty-seven patents - among them the ironing board and lawn sprinkler.

The bulletin is shown folded (8.5" x 5.5"), exactly as church members and visitors will receive it. The back side is blank to include the information you choose. Worship bulletins arrive packaged flat 8.5" x 11" to fit into your printer or copier; shrink wrapped in packages of 100.
