Communion is also known as Holy Communion, The Lord's Supper, and The Eucharist (from the Greek word for thanksgiving). The bread and wine (or juice of the grape) used in the service are known in liturgical traditions as the Elements. Communion is a Christian sacrament. The sacraments are outward, visible signs of an inward, spiritual grace. Communion recalls the last supper of Jesus with the disciples and Christ's continuing presence with us.
In Christian tradition the Holy Chalice is the vessel Jesus used at the Last Supper to serve the wine. The chalice occupies the first place among sacred vessels, and by a figure of speech the material cup is often used as if it were synonymous with the Precious Blood itself.
Cokesbury offers an extensive selection of Communion supplies to help your congregation keep the Sacrament of Communion. Communion chalices, patens, plates, and sets are created from fine materials with superb craftsmanship for every worship style and setting.
