Who are the most influential people in a student’s life?
Parents, teachers and pastors would like to think they are the most influential in a student’s life, but students spend more time interacting with their friends than with anyone else. Friends influence every part of students’ lives - how they act, what they wear, what they say, and most importantly what they believe.
In these four power-packed sessions, Sean McDowell offers Biblical insight into the most common issues students are facing in their friendships:
1. Loneliness (14 minutes)
2. Peer Pressure (13 minutes)
3. Comparisons (14 minutes)
4. Identity (13 minutes)
Includes:
- Four video sessions on 2 DVDs
- Leader’s Guide
- Printable Group Handouts
- Real-life interviews with students across the country
- Teaching on how friendships can refine our character and faith
- Interview with Grammy-nominated musician, Sarah Kelly about her personal struggle with “fitting in”
Sean McDowell, son of the well-known youth leader Josh McDowell, knows first-hand the power of communicating Biblical truth to students. As a popular speaker at conferences, churches, camps, and schools nationwide, Sean is in touch with the issues students are facing across the country. Sean’s most recent book is Ethix: Being Bold in a Whatever World. He lives with his wife and two children in California.
Friends also includes an interview with Sarah Kelly. Sarah Kelly arrived on the Christian music scene in 2004 with her Grammy-nominated debut, “Take Me Away.” Sarah’s music deals with a wide range of issues that point to God’s goodness and holiness.
