God’s gracious blessings poured out on this country are the focus of this three-stanza anthem. Themes include blessings on those who give, holy compassion in times of tragedy, worldwide unity through the Lord of the nations, and freedom. The piano accompaniment includes full, rich chords, frequent voice doubling, and a steady rhythmic pulse—all supporting the style of the anthem.  All vocal parts have a moderate range and are suited for the average SATB choir.

Performance options include use with youth, adults, or a mixture. Stanza 3 may be extracted and used as a benediction.

Appropriate days: Patriotic service themes, including Independence Day, Memorial Day, Veteran’s Day, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, September 11 observances; and general worship.
